Good afternoon Evergreen families!

This week in Evergreen the children taught each other about their families. They participated in many activities that allowed them to talk about how many people live in their house, how many siblings they have, and what are some of their favorite things to with their families.

In Science we used blocks and people to build houses, and put the members of our families in. The children practiced fine motor skills while drawing stick figure families. They were also able to practice their math lessons when they drew shapes for their families and homes.

In Literacy we worked with objects that had the beginning sound B,V,M,C, and introduced the letters that match these sounds. Ms. Suzan taught the children some fun new songs during Music and Movement. There were many songs about families, and other silly songs that had the children moving and giggling.

During our social/emotional meet up, we discussed emotions and belonging together. What does it mean to belong to a community? The children discussed ways they can help each other, and what they can do to help their families at home.

Next week the children will be learning about the community they live in.

Please check your child’s clothing box in the classroom to make sure they have extra clothes.
