Good afternoon Cedar families,
This week Dogwood and Cedar learned about stone soup. The children discussed friendship and kindness. The children sang “Make New Friends,” “The More we get Together,” “Skidamarink,” and “You are my Sunshine.” The children read Some Friends to Feed, Llama Llama Time to Share, The Peace Book, and My Friends/Mis Amigos.
The children worked on their large motor skills when playing “Ring around the Rosie,” throwing leaves high into the air, and bear crawling. The children practiced rolling balls to each other, tossing bean bags, and galloping like horses in P.E. with Ms. Kira.
Practical life skills were used when the children practiced cleaning up their work, rolling sleeves, taking off shoes, and looking into the mirror to clean their faces.
During art, the children used vegetable stamps, made handprint turkeys, and glued feathers on turkey shapes. The children also used bingo dabbers and painted while Mozart played in the background. The children explored with feathers, soapy water, and snow in the sensory table!
During music with Ms. Kathleen the children listened to Frosty, the Snowman and owl sounds. Ms. Kathleen had the children march to “The Grand Ole Duke of York” with scarves and play shaker eggs.
Happy 2nd Birthday to Natalee and Lily!
