Hello Aspen families! It was so exciting to see everyone on Thursday night. The kids worked very hard on their performance, and they nailed it! As always, we are staying busy in Aspen. We worked on letter recognition, number recognition, new self-help skills and winter activities. The children created snow globes, holiday trees and coffee filter snowflakes. They used different mediums to create new art projects: water droppers, different colored pastels and chalk. We read the book LMNOP’s, In the Dark, Sneeches, The Snowy Day, Christopher Counting and I know a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow. For our gross motor, we crawled through our new tunnel, balanced on wooden planks outside and moved our bodies to different winter animal. We also introduced new yoga exercises. On Friday, the Aspen class read Virgil and Owen Stick Together, worked on placing shapes in order from smallest to biggest, played on the Evergreen playground, and played with playdough and floam!
Spanish: the children worked on naming different Christmas items and sang songs.
Literacy: In literacy, the children to worked on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and other nursery rhymes. They identified words and sounds that rhyme. They also labeled different objects from the stories they read.
Music: Aspen continued working on Light and Love songs which they perfected on Thursday night.
P.E: The children practiced balancing by walking on curvy tight ropes, escaped the hot lava and had animal races.
Highscope: Dots and motions, working on doing a movement for a certain number of times that correspond with the number dots.
Have a wonderful weekend!
