Good evening Birch families,

This week, the Birch class continued their discussion of Chinese New Year, as well as Arctic Animals.  During small circle, the class listened along to the books Polar Bear Polar Bear, Celebrating Chinese New Year, Animals in Winter and Red is a Dragon. 

During music with Ms. Kathleen, the children created music using jingle bells and shaker eggs, danced with scarves and practiced making Baa Baa sounds into the microphone.

Practical life skills continued to grow by working with matching games, practicing color matching, working with animal lacing cards and folding baby blankets.

The children continued to enhance their large motor skills by waddling like a penguin, jumping off the wooden beam with two feet, dancing with scarves and practicing a variety of yoga poses. 

During P. E. with Ms. Kira, the Birch class danced to “Bop til you drop”, worked with action squares, practiced walking across bubble steps and practiced galloping and walking on tip-toes.

Next week we will be learning about Fish!
