March 31

Hello Birch families,

This week the Birch class talked about different baby animals that live on the farm. During small circle, the children listened along to the books Little Blue Truck, The Big Red Barn, Click Clack Moo and Barnyard Dance.  The children also sang along to “Old MacDonald” and “The animals on the Farm”.

During music with Ms. Kathleen, the class practiced banging on the drum hard and softly, listened to animal sounds, sang “Humpty Dumpty”, practiced making “Ba Ba” sounds into the microphone, and created music using shaker eggs and jingle bells.

The children continued to work on their practical life skills by transferring water from cup to cup, using bingo dabbers at the easel, working together to finish a farm animal puzzle, threading large wooden beads, and color mixing water with eye droppers.

The Birch class enhanced their large motor skills by crawling through a tunnel outside, going on nature walks, chasing and catching bubbles outside, and climbing the “rock wall”.

Next week we will be turning our attention to Amphibians!

Have a fabulous weekend!
