Good afternoon Dogwood families,
This week the children learned about baby animals. The children read Welcome Back, Animals, Animals to Count, Animal Colors, Farm Animals, and Baby Animals. The children sang “Old MacDonald,” the animal edition of “The Wheels on the Bus,” and “BINGO.”
The children worked on their large motor skills when playing “Sleeping Bunnies.” The children also practiced bear crawling, twirling, and running between cones. The children also practiced their friends’ names while taking turns rolling a ball.
Practical life skills were used when the children worked on washing the table, giving the baby dolls a bath, and transferring water using small cups. The children also practiced flipping their jackets to go outside and using alligator tweezers to grasp small objects.
During art, the children painted with rollers, used stamps, and finger painted. The children also explored with sand and water in the sensory table, and practiced rolling play dough to make worms.
During music with Ms. Kathleen the children fell backwards to “Humpty Dumpty.” The children thought it was so fun they did not want to stop! The children also played bells, shaker eggs, and sang “Ba ba” into a microphone.
Have a nice weekend!
