Dear Forest Families,
This week, the Forest students have focused on the joy of giving to others. Their gifts and cards for their families have begun going home. On Tuesday, the Treehouse children gathered in the Big Room to give gifts to other classrooms. The Forest children gave a gift to the children in Cedar, and received a gift from the children in Birch. The children have been discussing their roles as elves and Santa Clauses because they are making gifts and giving them to others. We’ve had many discussions about how great it feels to be helpful, giving, and kind. There are random acts of kindness and teamwork happening in the classroom everyday.
Although the schedule this week has been a bit more relaxed, the children continue working on writing, literacy, and math skills. All of the children have been practicing writing skills in the card shop, sounding out words, finding words from the literacy shelf to write, and creating words with the word blocks. They have been interested in continuing math concepts, such as, ordering numbers 1-10 and 1-20, working with the teen board, and researching addition in multiple ways.
The Forest Team wishes you all a happy holiday weekend, filled with love!
Ms. Riann, Ms. Jess, Ms. Suzanne, Ms. Freya, and Ms. Becky
