Hello Dogwood families,
This week Dogwood and Cedar learned about Winter Animals. During our morning circle, the children looked at winter animal photos, and we sang “If You Were a Polar Animal”. Everyone had fun when we moved like animals while listening to the Animal Dance song.
Some of the books we read this week were: Winter Animals, Ten Little Snow Flakes and Over in the Artic.
The children worked on their large motor skills by crawling like bears around the room and playing Ring Around the Rosey. We also still love jumping!
Some of our shelf activities like opening and closing tin boxes, work on fine motor skills. We are still practicing taking off and putting on snow boots, and hanging our own jackets on the hook. The children also explored with playdough, and ice outside on the playground.
For our art activity this week, the children painted with bingo dabbers and used purple paint on yellow paper.
Happy 2nd Birthday to Avery!
