Hello Evergreen families!
This week we continued to talk about communities and community workers. The children planned and built a fire truck, complete with hose and ladder! The class also began to learn about doctors and nurses in the community and they now can take care of sick babies in the community center. It has been exciting to see them using the information they have learned about community workers as they act out the roles in our community and in their planning.
In science, the class learned about germs and keeping their bodies healthy. This includes eating healthy, getting exercise and getting enough sleep. In math, the children compared shapes and their properties such as long/longer, short/shorter, round/straight, etc. In music, Ms. Kathleen continued to talk about composers and the children danced to music by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Verdi, and Puccini. Some of our children are even able to distinguish the different music of the composers! Our alien friend Z continued to teach the class about similarities and differences. The children learned that it is okay to like things that others don’t like. Also, the class learned about the letter “V,” learning its name and sound, and in PE, the children were excited to play many different games with the parachute.
Have a great week,
Ms. Kristine, Ms. Meghan, Ms. Kira and Ms. Lauren
