Hello Garden and Mountain families,
This week our theme was spring. The children sang “If All the Raindrops”, “Five Green and Speckled Frogs” and “Five Little Ducks.” During small circle the children read Watching the Seasons, Easter Surprise and Rain, Rain Go Away.
For large motor activities this week, the children bounced balls and rolled balls down ramps. The children also practiced butterfly pose and children who can stand practiced reaching up and touching their toes.
For art this week the children finger painted with purple and blue foam paint. And in music class with Ms. Kathleen, the children listened to the songs “The Bear Went over the Mountain” and “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” while watching a puppet show. The children also took turns hitting a tone block with a mallet.
Did you know that music helps expose babies to math skills? Here is an article from NAEYC that explains how different components of music help teach math:

Two new children joined our class this week. Welcome to Breck and Aurelia!
Have a great weekend!
