Hello Cedar families,
This week in the Cedar and Dogwood classes we learned about Gardening. We planted our flowers in our little garden. The children also learned about how plants grow from seeds, and we talked about how seeds make trees The plants and will start growing to make big trees and small plants and we will start to see the leaves come up as the trees start to grow and the flowers will start to come out of the ground. We also talked about how we water our plants to help them grow. We practiced spraying our plants, digging in the sand and wood chips, and jumping off the balance beam. In our small group lessons this week we talked about what different plants look like, and what different colors the plants are, and how we smell the flowers and touch the leaves on the trees, and we sang Buzzing Baby Bee”.
During circle time, this week we read: Let it Rain, From a Caterpillar to a Butterfly and When I’m feeling Happy . The children continued building their practical life skills this week by sweeping, washing the chalk off the wall outside with spray bottles , and folding wash cloths. This week in art we painted with String, and explored with soapy water in the water table. The children also had fun looking for ladybugs outside in the grass.
In music, this week Ms. Kathleen brought back the Jingle bells and taught us a new song to play the bells to and read and sang All My Favorite Things. The children danced with scarves to a trumpet song and marched and danced to the “Hello” song.
We would like to wish a very happy birthday to Charlie who is now 2!
Have an amazing weekend and enjoy the wonderful weather and beautiful plants!
