May 31

Hello Garden and Mountain families,

This week our theme was summer!  During circle we sang “Baby Bumblebee,” “Mr. Sun,” and “If All the Raindrops.”  The children listened to the books At the Park, Splash, and Going to the Zoo.

For large motor activities this week the children explored different sizes of boxes. They enjoyed pushing and climbing in and out of the boxes. The children also enjoyed riding the seesaw and exploring the climber outside.

For art this week the children colored with crayons. The children also used their fingers, paint brushes and rollers, with yellow, orange and red paint to make beautiful summer-inspired murals. Another fun sensory experience the children engaged in this week was exploring confetti in the sensory table.

In music class, the children continued to explore Ms. Kathleen’s guitar. They also took turns singing “ba ba” into a microphone, shook jingle bells and danced with scarves. The children also listened to Ms. Kathleen sing nursery rhymes.

Sleep is very important for infants, but commonly parents encounter challenges surrounding their infant’s sleep routines. Here is an article from the Zero to Three organization that discusses common challenges parents face and some helpful solutions:

Have a great weekend!
