Hello Evergreen Families,
This week we have had a lot of time outside enjoying water play, among other things. While doing morning work outside on Monday there were three baby bunnies in our garden! We found a hole where they had been living and have eaten a large portion of our vegetables. The children watched them as they hid between the two planters.
We continued discussing different environments such as deserts, rain forest, and the oceans. We also continued learning about different animals and climates. It has been interesting to see how many facts the children already know and are ready to share. For example, one student described sea horses and how the daddy carries the babies in a pouch and another student described how chameleons use camouflage to hide in their environment.
A visit from Birds of Prey brought an owl and a hawk which was so exciting to see. Students listened as the facts were being presented. We learned that this particular owl, Cookie, isn’t from Colorado and lives at the sanctuary in a large cage the size of our big room. This fact amazed the students as they also learned he has a pool, play area, and sleeping area.
Have a wonderful weekend!
