December 14

Hello Aspen Families!

This week in Aspen we talked about giving. We talked about giving toys, clothes, and food to those is need.  We also talked about how giving hugs, sharing, and listening is also giving. In circle we read The Kissing Hand, The Giving Tree, and Be Fair and Share. This week we also read The Gingerbread Man and then made our own in art.

The children also played a shape sorting game and worked on color recognition. The children went on a nature walk and looked for signs of winter. In P.E. this week the children continued working on ball rolling and bouncing. They also danced to animal actions and practiced yoga poses to help with their balance.

In music this week the children continued working on their Light and Love songs and practiced getting on and off the risers. Ms. Kathleen referred to the Light and Love performance as a gift the children were giving to you all and they were so excited to give to you! In music the children also marched to music from the Nutcracker, listened to Frosty the Snowman and The Marvelous Toy.

Next week we start talking about winter and winter animals! Have a great weekend!
