Hello Birch Families,

Birch class had a wonderful week! We have been enjoying learning about all of the Celebrations Around the World! We wrapped up learning about Hanukkah as it ended on Monday. The children liked reading about the Jewish celebration that lasts for eight days, in honor of miracles that occurred so many years ago. The children learned the most important message that with every candle lit there’s always a way to find light in the darkness. (A toddler version of that of course!)

This week we also started introducing winter and animals in winter! We read the book Over in the Arctic, and the children painted “Snowy Owls” on black paper. Their art is hanging up on the loft, we encourage you to come into the classroom and take a look at their creative work!

In music class this week, the Birch children really enjoyed singing “Frosty the Snowman” and hearing the bird sounds from the Frosty the Snowman book, they loved listening to the sound that a cardinal makes! They also had fun spinning the dreidel and singing “The Dreidel Song.”
