Good afternoon Cedar families,

This week Dogwood and Cedar talked about The New Year.  This is an arbitrary concept for toddlers, but we had fun with it nonetheless!

During small circle, the children sang Make New Friends, and we toured the classroom, showing our newest friends where things go.  We also played the Name game

This group loves listening to stories, this week we read: Make a Wish, Little Tiger Picks Up, and The Wheels On The Bus.

The children worked on their large motor skills by marching to music, moving like animals with the song Animal Actions and jumping everywhere!  Small motor skills were used when threading beads, and sweeping up the floor after snack.  PS…toddlers love to clean!

During art, this week we made fireworks with cardboard rolls, painted with water colors and colored with crayons.  The children also explored with play dough, and with water in the water table.

During music with Ms. Kathleen we played with shaker eggs to a fast song, and danced with our baby dolls.
