Dear Dogwood families,
This week in Cedar and Dogwood we focused on celebrations around the world. We read books such as You are the Best Present and Hooray for You. The children’s favorite book this week was Llama Llama Holiday Drama. This book is a silly picture book about a llama who gets tired of all the shopping and visits and just needs a nap.
In art, the children enjoyed making holiday lights and using crayons to make pictures about celebrations. We also made cards for the holidays.
The children worked on puzzles and beading this week.
This week the children enjoyed practicing the Downward Dog pose in Yoga and hopping like bunnies around the room.
We sang songs about celebrations such as “Jingle Bells” and “Feliz Navidad.” The children’s favorite song this week was “The Dreidel Song.” The lyrics are “I have a little dreidel, I made it out of clay, And when it’s dry and ready, then dreidel I shall play. Oh, dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, I made it out of clay, And when you’re dry and ready, then Dreidel we shall play.”
Enjoy your week off and we will see you the next week when we will be talking more about celebrations around the world.
Have a wonderful week full of friends and family!
Ms. Kelsey, Ms. Jamie, Ms. Eileen and Ms. April
