Dear Garden and Mountain families,

This week in Mountain we did so much. We read 1,2,3 By the Sea a counting book written by Dianne Mortiz and illustrated by Hazel Mitchell. During our music time we listened to “De Colores/All the Colors.” We explored the rhythm sticks and danced to the music. The children enjoyed our fine motor activity “Animal Rescue.” We used masking tape to stick the animals to the table and encouraged the children to pull it up to save the animals. This activity allows the children to use eye hand coordination and practice problem solving. In our sensory table this week we explored ice with different toys frozen inside. During this activity we practiced taking turns around the table and we talked about how the ice feels cold.

In Garden we continue to grow stronger each and every day. We are making sure to do lots of tummy time, reaching for toys and tracking toys. In music we explored the egg shakers and the children loved playing the light up piano. While enjoying the lights and music from the piano this allows the children to practice sitting independently.

We hope everyone has a wonderful and restful weekend!
Ms. Miranda, Ms. Danielle, Ms. Mariela and Ms. Jess
