Good afternoon Dogwood families,

This week Dogwood and Cedar learned about bugs!

During small circle the children sang “I’m a Little Bug” and “We are the Dinosaurs (Marching)”

The children read: From Caterpillar to Butterfly, Insects, Curly and the Cherries, Ladybugs, and Old Black Fly.

The children worked on their large motor skills when they pretended to be bugs crawling on the floor, ran races outside, kicked cones, climbed and jumped of the climber and during P.E with Ms. Kira.

Practical life skills were used when: matching colors, folding blankets after nap, putting away toys, sweeping up after meals and practicing proper hand-washing.

During art, the children: made cardboard spiders, fly swatter art and bug name art.

The children explored with wet sand, sensory bottles, and in the water table with plastic bugs.

During music with Ms. Kathleen the children sang “I had a tiny turtle”, “It’s a very busy day”, made animal noises and danced with scarves.

Have a great weekend!

Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Delani, Ms. Delanie, Ms. Stevie, and Ms. Piper
