Good afternoon Birch families,

This week’s theme was “All About Me”.  The Birch class focused on family, friends and learning about their bodies.  During small circle, the class listened along to the books Look!, The Feelings Book and  I Feel Silly.  The class also sang along to “head, shoulders, knees and toes” and “Old shoes, new shoes”.

During music with Ms. Kathleen, the Birch class danced with scarves, used shaker eggs, practiced taking turns banging on a drum and created music with jingle bells.

Large motor skills continued to grow by climbing up the “rock wall” outside, throwing a ball overhand, jumping across stepping stones and chasing and catching bubbles outside.

The children continued to focus on practical life skills by washing baby dolls in the sensory table, threading large wooden beads, hanging dress up clothes back on the hooks, matching animals and folding baby blankets.

Next week we will be learning all about space!
