Good afternoon Birch families,
This week the Birch class continued their discussion on the universe! During small circle, the children listened along to the books Roaring Rockets, My First Book About Space and Goodnight Moon. The class also sang and danced along to “Mr. Sun”, “Mr. Moon”, “Shake your sillies out” and “The goldfish”.
Practical life skills continued to grow by scooping stars with a spoon, working with an egg matching activity, folding baby blankets and matching shapes and farm animals.
The children continued to enhance their large motor skills by jumping with both feet, pushing their chairs in when getting up from the table, pushing off with their legs when using the see-saw and balancing across the wooden beams outside.
During music with Ms. Kathleen the children listened along to “Riding my tractor”, danced with scarves, used shaker eggs and rhythm sticks to create music and learned a new finger paly called “Goodnight baby”.
Next week the Birch class will be focusing on animals!
Have a happy weekend!
Ms. Nicole and Ms. Itzel
