Good evening Birch families,
This week the Birch class focused their attention on what it means to have manners. The class learned the Spanish words for “Thank you”, “Please” and “You’re Welcome”. During small circle, the class listened along to the books: Be Patient, Maddie, I Can Clean Up, Thankful and Little Penguin Says Please. The class also learned two new songs about manners.
During music with Ms. Kathleen the children danced with scarves, listened to different owl sounds, created music with jingle bells and practiced keeping a rhythm on the drum.
Large motor skills continued to grow by using action dice, singing and acting out “Scarecrow, Scarecrow”, kicking a ball back and forth to a friend and chasing bubbles outside.
The class continued to enhance their practical life skills by folding baby blankets, sweeping the floors after snack, washing the tables with soap and water and a cloth and using the animal lacing cards.
During P.E. with Ms. Kira, the Birch class practiced jumping across bubble steps, played “red light, green light”, imitated animal actions and practiced walking on tip-toes.
The Birch class would like to welcome Olivia and Ikechi to the classroom!
Next week we will be discussing families!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Nicole and Ms. Itzel
