December 2

Good afternoon Birch families,

This week, the Birch class focused their attention enhancing their fine motor skills by working with lacing, threading and weaving work.   During work time, the class practiced threading large wooden beads on a string, worked with animal lacing cards and weaved with construction paper.

During music with Ms. Kathleen, the children sang along to “Frosty the Snowman” and “Skidamarink”.  The class also created music with shaker eggs, jingle bells and rhythm sticks, as well as danced with scarves to songs from The Nutcracker.

Practical life skills continued to grow by working with button puzzles, dressing selves with jackets, skirts and vests in the dramatic play area, building with blocks and coloring at the easel with crayons.

The Birch class continued to work on their large motor skills by crawling through a tunnel outside, kicking balls back and forth to a friend, running sideways and backwards and climbing up the rock wall outside.

During P.E. with Ms. Kira, the children played Red light, Green light, practiced walking across bubble steps, galloped like horses and worked on walking on tip-toes.

Next week we will be turning our attention to Animals in Winter.

Have a delightful weekend!
