Hello Birch families,
This week the class turned their attention to Africa and the animals that live there. During small circle the children listened along to the books Leo the Late Bloomer, The Right Number of Elephants and Giraffes Can’t Dance. The class also sang along to “Five Little Monkeys” and “Old MacDonald Went on Safari”.
During music with Ms. Kathleen, the class danced with scarves, created music using the triangle and jingle bells and listened along to different frog sounds.
Large motor skills continued to grow by crawling through a tunnel, jumping across stepping stones, standing on one foot during yoga and walking sideways and backwards.
The Birch class enhanced their practical life skills when they sorted elephants by color, working with animal lacing cards, transferring water with an eye dropper and playing an African animal matching game.
During P.E. with Ms. Kira the class danced to “Bop Til You Drop”, used action dice and danced with scarves to classical music.
Next week we will be turning our attention to reptiles!
Have a delightful weekend.
Ms. Nicole, Ms. Itzel and Ms. Sarah
