Hello Garden and Mountain Families.

This week we focused on a theme of ‘Family and Pets.’ We read Families, My Pet, That’s Not My Puppy, My Family and Me, and About Me. We looked at each child’s family picture and talked about different families. The children love to look at not only their family pictures, but the other children’s as well.  We also played with our set of plastic pet animals. We named each pet and made the sound the animal makes. Some of the older children will point to an animal when asked and can make its sound on their own.

The children have been very interested in playing with balls this week. They have enjoyed throwing the little ones, and bouncing the big ones. We have rolled them down the loft and some of the older children have begun to play catch with them. They’ll play not only with us, but also with each other, which is a big developmental step (as well as being very cute to watch).

Please take time each morning to make sure your child has all the supplies needed for the day (bottles for each feeding, spare clothes, food if needed, etc.) and place them by or in your child’s cubby. This assures that we can find and use what we need.  Thank you!
