March 17

Good afternoon Birch families,

This week the Birch class focused on Irish culture and St. Patrick’s Day.  During small circle, the children learned the songs “I’m a little leprechaun” and “The rainbow song”.  The class also listened along to the books Penguins Love Colors, Let it Rain, I Like Myself and Please, Mr. Panda.

During music with Ms. Kathleen, the class danced with scarves and listened along to “Waking up is hard to do”.

The children continued to enhance their large motor skills by crawling through a rainbow tunnel outside, jumping with two feet off the climber, moving feet fast to imitate Irish step dancing and kicking a ball back and forth to a friend.

The Birch class continued to work on their practical life skills by building with textured blocks, putting gold coins through a small slot, stacking ice cream scoops and transferring water with a sponge.

Next week we will be turning our attention to Spring!

Have a happy weekend!
