Hello Garden and Mountain Families.

This week we concluded our theme of ‘transportation.’ We read the Noisy Book of Trains, That’s Not My Train, Diggers, the Big Busy Machine Series, and looked at pictures in Planes. We sang “Zoom, Zoom, Zoom” and “Down by the Station.” We also sang along to other songs that we have printed books to. The children’s favorite seems to be Row, Row, Row Your Boat. It’s great to put a visual element with song.

In music class, Ms. Kathleen brought a song book as well. She plays the song on her iPod while the children look at the pictures in the book, they really enjoy this activity. They also got to play shaker eggs, jingle bells, and sing into a microphone.

Since the weather was so wonderful this week, all the children could be outside often and get fresh air. The older children pushed wagons, played peek-a-boo, rolled balls through tunnels, and rolled toy trucks along the sidewalk. They also floated toy boats in the water table, but the hit activity was being pulled in our big wagon by Ms. Shannon!
