Good afternoon Birch families,
This week was the first day of Spring! During small circle, the children listened along to the books The Happy Bee, Miss Maple’s Seeds, Zinnia’s Flower Garden and Wild Wild Sunflower Child Anna. The class also learned the new song “Little Bird” and played a Spring time matching game.
Practical life skills continued to grow by threading large wooden beads, working with peg boards, folding baby blankets and picking up small stars with tongs.
The Birch class continued to enhance their large motor skills by jumping off the wooden beams outside, rolling a ball back and forth to a friend, crawling through a tunnel and practicing the yoga poses for “Tree”, “Flower” and “Waterfall”.
During music with Ms. Kathleen, the class sang along to “Waking up is hard to do”, danced with scarves, listened to different animal sounds and played on a drum.
During P.E. with Ms. Kira, the children practiced galloping like horses, walking on tip-toes, balancing on lily pads and danced to animal actions.
Next week, we will turn our attention to baby animals!
Have a wonderful weekend
Ms. Nicole and Ms. Itzel
