Hello Garden and Mountain Families.
This week we talked and learned about spring. We read Watching the Seasons, Easter Surprise, Rain, Rain Go Away, Touch and Feel Baby Animals, and The Very Funny Frog. A couple of the books have flaps to lift and pop out features, which makes them so fun to read. We sang “Five Green and Speckled Frogs,” “If All of the Raindrops,” and “Five Little Ducks.” The children seem to really enjoy these counting songs with hand motions.
We spent quite a bit of time outside again this week, and even went on a buggy ride to see if we could find any plants growing. A couple of houses in the neighborhood have planted some flowers already, and some trees have started budding, too.
The older children in Mountain have been working on some cognitive and fine motor skills. This week, they tried out a new activity where they scoop objects with an over-sized spoon, and move them from one container to another. They also worked with a wooden flower puzzle where they put the flower pieces onto a peg. The children really seemed to enjoy these activities!
Have a great weekend!
