Hello Aspen families,

What a crazy week it’s been. The weather has once again prevented any planting from happening this week, hopefully our garden will make it in the ground next week!

This week in big circle we read Secrets of the Vegetable Garden, Manners are NOT for Monkeys, Hey Little Ant, Ant, Ladybug and A Mountain of Friends. This week was full of movement! On Monday the kids danced to “The Goldfish Song” and “We Are the Dinosaurs”. Tuesday and Wednesday were busy with the basket toss and on Thursday and Friday the kids used the movement dice and we created a small obstacle course in the classroom. This week in smaller groups the kids worked on beehive number matching, went on a nature walk to look for bees, and played with snow in the sensory table.

In Spanish the children practiced counting to 20, naming their colors and worked with a farm animal puzzle.

Music was also centered around farm animals this week, Ms. Kathleen brought Old MacDonald finger puppets and scarves to dance with. The children also listened to farm animal sounds, sang nursery rhymes and listened to the story Driving my Tractor.

Have a nice weekend,

Ms. Kate and Ms. Megan
