Hello Birch families,
This week, our curriculum focused on colors and sorting. The Birch class did several art projects that involved mixing two colors to create another one, as well as color mixing water with eye droppers. During work time, the children also sorted pom-poms based on color and worked with nesting cups.
During music with Ms. Kathleen, the Birch class danced with scarves, took turns drumming a drum, created music using shaker eggs and listened along to different bug sounds.
During small circle, the class listened along to the books Bear Sees Colors, Green, White Rabbit Book of Colors and The Mixed-Up Chameleon. The children also sang along to the songs “I’m a little teapot” and “The more we get together”.
Large motor skills continued to grow by kicking balls back and forth to a friend, bouncing on large bouncy balls on the grass, climbing up the “rock wall” outside, and practicing morning yoga.
Next week our class curriculum will be Music around the World!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Ms. Nicole, Ms. Itzel and Ms. Sarah
