This Week in Cedar

Good afternoon Cedar families,

This week Cedar learned about apples and pumpkins.

During small circle, the children sang “I Like to Eat Apples and Bananas”, “The Itsy Bitsy Pumpkin”, and “Five Little Pumpkins” and we read: Fall Apples, Fruit is a Suitcase for Seeds, and Picking Apples and Pumpkins.

The children worked on their large motor skills by raking piles of leaves and jumping in them, playing Ring around the Rosie, and practicing jumping off of a small step.

Practical life skills were used when:  children practiced pouring water from one small pitcher to another, sang ABC’s while washing hands, and color sorting apples.

During art, this week the children did some two step art. First they painted circles orange and after the circles dried, the children used glue sticks with black paper to make jack-a-lantern masks.

The children had fun exploring leaves in the sensory table, playdough, and a little bit of snow!

Happy Birthday Charlie Z
