Dear Forest Families,
Happy new year!
This month the Forest children will be learning about community helpers. The students have been working hard to build a fire station, a doctor’s office, and a police station. They have been helping create signs and props to use in their play.
During their work time, they have been playing games that help them identify letters, sounds, and numbers. The children have been working on blending sounds to read the books in the classroom. This week we read the book Squirrel’s New Year Resolution. After hearing the story the children also decided on resolutions for 2018. They worked on drawing and writing their messages. There are a lot of things the children are interested in learning, doing, or helping others with this year. We are excited for what comes next!
Have an amazing weekend-
The Forest Team,
Ms. Riann, Ms. Freya, Ms. Suzanne, Ms. Becky, and Ms. Jess
