Hello Birch families,

This week in Birch we talked about recycling and kindness. We discussed more about what can be put in the trash and what should be recycled. We even sorted some of our classroom trash items and recycle items. We practiced our throwing and catching skills with friends. In our small group lessons this week we read books about Earth and sang the “Recycle Song”.

During circle time, this week we read: Be Kind to Trees, Where Does Rubbish Go, Garbage and Recycling, The Great Trash Bash. The children continued building their practical life skills this week by folding blankets, caring for their baby dolls, and completing latch and magnet puzzles. This week in art the children painted their own creations of what our earth looks like. The children also explored with recycled plastic, and bathing baby dolls in the sensory table.

In music, this week Ms. Kathleen introduced us to a new song that had a Latin beat and the children danced to it with musical scarves. We also practiced some yoga skills to get our bodies moving and stretching.
