Hello Garden and Mountain families,

We had another great week in the infant rooms! At circle time the children listened to the books Spunky Little Monkey, Do Your Ears Hang Low?, and I am a Tree. The children also listened to the songs “The More We Get Together,” “Hello Everybody,” “Baby Bumblebee.”

For art this week, the children used large paint brushes and water color paints on coffee filters. The children enjoyed watching the colors move across and mix on the filters. The children also colored with crayons.

In music class with Ms. Kathleen the children continued to explore jingle bells and shaker eggs. The children also took turns beating a drum and singing into a microphone. Ms. Kathleen spent a lot of time this week singing songs with “finger plays” or signs that go along with the song.

Here is an article from NAEYC on how exposure to music is beneficial to the development of all children, including newborn infants:

We celebrated two birthdays this week! Happy first birthday to Abby and Niels!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend!
