August 10

Hello Birch families,

This week in Birch we talked a lot about our upcoming transitions into new classrooms. We talked about what we saw in our new classrooms during our visits and who are new teachers will be.

We worked on kicking and throwing balls outside.  The children also practiced standing on one foot (they found it was much easier to do this if they were leaning on the table). We sang “ABCs” and “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.”

During circle time this week we read: Zoom Rocket Zoom, Little Monkey Calms Down, You are my Sunshine, and Little dinos Don’t Yell . The children continued building their practical life skills this week by sweeping and using the sweepers to get crumbs up off the floor and folding wash cloths.

This week in art we colored with crayons and painted on big butcher paper. The children also had fun splashing in the water table and helping to harvest some of our mint.

In music this week Ms. Kathleen brought her guitar for the children to try. The children danced with scarves to a train chugging song.  The children also enjoyed dancing to “Animal Actions,” “The Dinosaur Song,” and “The Goldfish Song.”

Have an amazing weekend!

Ms.Sloan and Ms. Delani
