Hello Birch Families,

This was our last week in Birch with many of your kiddos and while the end of the school year, or summer session, is always bittersweet, there was still learning to be done. We talked quite a bit about new classrooms and what can be expected as the children move on from the Birch class. We sang “The Ants Go Marching,” “Mr. Sun,” and “Icky Sticky Bubble Gum.”

During circle time we read Little Monkey Calms Down, Little Dinos Don’t Bite, and If You Give a Pig a Party. During work time the children explored with a mixture of soap and paint, and corn starch and water. They also worked on putting buttons in the coin slot, scooping stars, and washing tables (believe it or not soap and paint is not as easy to clean up as you might think!). In art, we colored with crayons on big paper and explored with slime and play-doh.

In music with Ms. Kathleen the children danced with scarves, listened to animal sounds, and played shaker eggs.
