Hello Aspen families!
This week in Aspen we talked about land, air, and water. The children discussed what animals and plants they can find in each area. The children thought it was funny to think of a cow swimming in water! In circle time we read stories Don’t let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, Pout pout fish far far from Home, The Garden, and The Gobble Gobble Moo Tractor Book. The children also played a land, air, and water sorting game where they sorted various pictures into the correct category. The children worked on letter recognition in literacy by tracing the sandpaper letters of /l/ and /w/. The children worked on counting 1 through 5 to dotted flashed cards and did a high scope work called Bears on a Boat. For art this week the children did stamp leaf print picture and practiced blowing through a straw to spread paint around the paper. This week the children were introduced to a new practical life work where they can practice putting on pants and jackets.
This week in music the children sang finger play songs, teddy bear songs, and galloped to horse songs. The children played shaker eggs to renaissance music. They also listened to echoes and animals sounds. In P.E. the children did yoga and practiced wall push ups and rolled medicine balls around the yard.
Next week we will talk about planets, stars, and volcanoes! Have a wonderful weekend.
