September 21

Dear Cedar Families,

The hot weather is starting to fade away and the changing leaves have been so much fun for us to see. This week we talked all about the change of season. The windy and rainy weather are part of the move into fall and we have enjoyed feeling and observing it. We read Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall and Leaves and have been looking for the other signs of fall outside. It is also time to bring in jackets for those chilly days.

Next week we are continuing with our fall theme by delving deeper and talking about “harvesting.” This also builds with our healthy foods from a few weeks ago as we talk about picking our foods and caring for our gardens. We have a tomato plant on the Dogwood playground and a mint plant on the Cedar playground that we will be checking to see if anything is ready to be harvested.

Weekly song: Oats, Peas, Beans, and Barley
Oats, peas, beans, and barley grow
Oats, peas, beans, and barley grow
Nor you, nor I, nor anyone knows
How oats, peas, beans, and barley grows.
First the farmer sows the seed
Then he stands and takes his ease
Stomps his foot
Claps his hands
And turns around to view the land
Tra la la la la la la
Tra la la la la la la
Tra la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la

Have a good weekend,

Ms. Karina, Ms. Spenser, Ms. Jen, and Ms. Karen

Ms. Maria is no longer working at Treehouse.  We wish her all the best as she moves on.
