This week in Evergreen

Hello Evergreen Families,

This week we have focused on the topic of peace and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Throughout the week we have been working on becoming better members of our community by recognizing our differences and similarities. We are practicing yoga breaths, stretches and exercises which help us be mindful.

In small groups we have been making ethnic collages, playing the germ game(which shows children how easy it is to catch germs and why hand washing is important) and working on fine motor skills by doing a dot gluing sheet. We also looked at a brown and white eggs and talked about how they are different on the outside, but once cracked they are the same on the inside.

For our social-emotional curriculum we have been talking about methods of finding peace and finding what makes you special.

Other Topics this Week:

  • Diversity
  • Pouring
  • Indoor play
  • Self care with winter clothes

Next week we will transform our classroom into China and be taking about Chinese New Year.

Thank you and have a great weekend!

Ms. Kristine, Ms. Cezanne, Ms. Brenda, and Ms. Jamie
