Hello Evergreen Families,
This week we welcomed Henley into our classroom. We are excited to get to know her and form new friendships. We also said goodbye to Finley H. We wish her well on her new adventures. We have started this week practicing the letter Ww, drawing self portraits, and forming Venger drawings. Venger drawings are two shapes on a sheet of paper which can be turned into a picture using some imagination.
We have also started introducing islands and reptiles. In science we are focusing on islands, the geography of an island and the animals commonly found on them, specifically the reptiles. Next week we will begin to compare islands such as Hawaii and the Komodo islands in Indonesia. As a request from the class, we are going to look into the Komodo dragon as a preferred reptile.
Coming up next week, the dramatic play area will be slowly transformed into a grocery store. Part of the March curriculum will be focused on nutrition and health as the spring season begins and we have more time for outdoor activities.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
