March 22

Hello Cedar families,

This week in class we talked about spring. We learned about the flowers blooming and the weather changing. The children enjoyed reading the The Hungry Caterpillar and watching it transform into a beautiful butterfly. We particularly enjoyed the colors the author uses. We enjoyed books such as Mouse’s First Spring and You Are My Sunshine, the children love to sing the words and follow along with the book!

In art, the children made hand print flowers to welcome the new season! For Practical life they worked on pouring water, they seem to really enjoy helping fill their water bottles. The children also worked on cleaning the tables before meals.

Our song this week was “Mister Sun”. We also sang “the Wheels on the Bus” and “You Are My Sunshine”. We particularly liked being able to be outside this week to celebrate spring. Next week we will talk more about spring; particularly how to take care of the earth for spring. You can practice at home with words such as “flowers”, “water” and “earth”.

Please remember to check your child’s cubby box to make sure they have plenty of changes of clothes and check your student’s folder for any artwork.

Thank you!

Have a wonderful and warm weekend!

Love,

Ms. Kelsey, Ms. Karen, and Ms. Jamie
