This week in Dogwood

Hello Dogwood families,

This week we have been talking about  how to take care of our Earth! The children have learned about ways to take care of the earth and why the earth is important. They have very much enjoyed being in the sandbox this week! We also enjoyed reading books such as Earth Day and Celebrating Earth Day. Their favorite book this week was The Earth Book by Todd Parr.  The children enjoyed the colorful pictures and learning new words!

In art, the children used paints and stamps. In practical life we practiced picking up trash that was strategically placed on the playground. We enjoyed learning more about what items we could put in our compost bins and kept our playgrounds clean.

Our song this week was “Ring around the Rosie.” We also sang “Five Green Speckled Frogs” and “The Wheels on the Bus.” The children enjoyed singing along with Ms. Kathleen and dancing with her! She sang “Waking up is Hard to Do.”

Next week we will talk about birds.  We will also continue to enjoy the sunshine by taking our painting outside and going for buggy rides!

Have a wonderful and warm weekend!

Ms. Kelsey, Ms. Sonia, Ms. Jamie, and Ms. Eileen
