Hello Dogwood families,

This week in Cedar and Dogwood the children have been learning about birds. The children enjoyed looking or listening for the birds while outside. This week the children also enjoyed painting and making animal sounds! The children enjoyed reading books such as The Cloud, That’s not my Duck and Earthquack. They especially enjoyed the illustrations in  The Cloud by Eric Carle.

In art, the children used paint to make the sky and objects in the sky. In practical life the children practiced sorting, counting, and stacking. We used words such as “sky,” “ fly,” “airplanes,” “wings,” and “ hot air balloons.”

Our song this week was “Ring around the Rosie.” The children enjoyed holding hands, falling down, and getting back up again.  We also sang “Five Green Speckled Frogs” and “The Wheels on the Bus.” The children also enjoyed singing and dancing with Ms. Kathleen during music class!
