June 21

Hello Cedar families,

This week in Cedar and Dogwood, we continued exploring the topic of summer! The children have enjoyed watching the rain fall and watching the lawn mowers mow the lawn. They have been very enthusiastic about watering our plants and have made sure the garden is happy.

During circle, the children enjoyed reading  My Awesome Summer and I See Summer: Veo el Verano.  The children enjoyed singing “Mr. Golden Sun” and “If all of the Sunbeams.”  They also learned a new song “Pop, Pop, Popsicle” which is to the tune of “Row, Row, Row your Boat.”  The lyrics are:  Pop, Pop, Popsicle; A yummy frozen treat; Cherry, Lemon, Orange, Grape; Cool and fun to eat!

For art this week, the children had fun exploring with bingo dabbers and foam paint.

The children worked with peg boards and shape sorters during work period.  The children continued working on taking off and putting on shoes!

Next week, weather permitting, we will be working a lot with water.  Please make sure your child has extra clothes since they will likely get very wet.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Kelsey, Ms. Karen, Ms. Jamie, Ms. Karina and Ms. Eileen
