Hello Cedar families,
This week we talked more about water! The children have enjoyed watching the sprinklers and trying to find where water goes. They have been very enthusiastic about watering cans and water play. We also enjoyed reading books such as That’s Not My Duck, Find the Duck and Five Little Monkeys Take a Bath. Our favorite book is I Love My White Shoes.
In art, the children had fun coloring and “painting” with water. They also enjoyed exploring things that float in the sensory bins. For practical life students enjoyed wiping tables, pouring water and strengthening their hands using tweezers.
Our song this week was “Waves in the Sea”. The song is to the melody of “The Wheels on the Bus” and the lyrics are “the waves in the sea goes up and down, up and down, up and down, the waves in the sea go up and down, all day long. The sharks in the sea go snap, snap, snap, etc., the fish in the sea go swish, swish, swish, etc., the boats in the sea go toot, toot, toot, etc.”
Next week we will have a short week and talking more about water. We will be conducting more science experiments with water. You can practice at home with words such as “hot”, “wet”, “ dry” and “ sank”. Also, please make sure your child has plenty of changes of clothes for the week!
Be sure to check your child’s cubby box for of changes of summer clothes along with your students folder for any artwork.
Thank you!
Have a wonderful and warm weekend!
