Dear Garden and Mountain Families,
This week in Mountain we enjoyed reading Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? by Dr. Seuss, a book of wonderful noises. The children especially loved singing “If You’re Happy and You Know It” and “The Itsy Bitsy Spider.” During this classroom activity the children become very engaged in the hand movements of each song and begin to participate on their own. The children also found an interest in the large musical instruments this week including a drum, piano and xylophone. During this time we used this opportunity to introduce the sign for “share.” The children began to understand the word and sign together as the week progressed. We will continue to use this sign as the children are exploring the world around them.
In Garden this week we explored different farm animals as we talked about the different sounds each animal makes. We also explored the different textured shapes. The children really engaged in these activities. We will continue to work on lots of tummy time and have a couple of kiddos working on sitting independently!
Please remember the weather is beginning to change. Please make sure your child has all the proper gear so we can continue to explore the outdoors. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
