November 15

Dear Birch Families,

This week in Birch we have been practicing manners. We had one cup full of crayons and they took turns with it and shared the crayons. Next week we will continue practicing using manners at snack and lunch time too.

The children have been practicing flipping their coats for outside time.  You can also practice this at home and see their faces light up when they do it all by themselves! This week they especially enjoyed watching the dog on our walk. It made the children laugh pretty hard when he started running around in circles. We saw a pine tree and we talked about the difference between “leaves” and “needles.”

During music class the children really loved playing the drums.  They also enjoyed making a train and following each other around the room while singing.  They also played a music box, and they tried guessing which song it played.

For a sensory activity, the children felt a bag with water in it and used a roller on top of it. They all agreed it felt soft.

During circle we read The Pigeon has to go to School by Mo Willems and Be Brave, Little Penguin by Giles Andreae.

Remember to check your parent file so you know what ingredient your child picked for Stone Soup.

Have a good weekend!

Ms. Lorena and  Ms. Abbi
