Dear Cedar families,

We are so excited to learn about Thanksgiving and thankfulness.  We also enjoyed Stone Soup as a community.  We read books such as Some Friends to Feed and I Can Say Thank You. Our favorite book this week was Over the River and Through the Woods.  This book is a classic song about an adventure to grandma’s house. 

In art, the children enjoyed finger paints and painting with brown paint with brushes.  

The children practiced sweeping, scooping, and beading.  They also practiced jumping over small obstacles and walking around them. 

Our song this week was “The First Thanksgiving,” it is sung to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”.  The lyrics are:  Pick the corn and pick the beans, Pick the squash and other greens It is harvest time you see Come and share a feast with me. Bring your family out to play,We’ll call this Thanksgiving Day.  The children also enjoyed singing “Over the River.”
