Dear Dogwood families,
This week in Cedar and Dogwood we focused on friendship and love. We read a book called Groovy Joe. This book is a fun book about a dog who has a party with other dogs, this book even has a song! Our book that we focused on this week was The Little Band. This book is a picture book about children who make a band together. We also worked on naming musical instruments.
In art, the children enjoyed coloring while listening to classical music. The children enjoyed coloring together.
The children practiced taking turns and saying names of all their classmates. The children worked on wiggling and moving their whole bodies.
We sang songs such as “The Wheels on the Bus” and “If You’re Happy and You Know It.” One of the children’s favorite songs was “One Little Finger.” The lyrics are: One little finger, one little finger, tap tap tap, put the finger up, put the finger down, put it on your head. One little finger, one little finger, tap tap tap, put the finger up, put the finger down, put it on your nose. One little finger, one little finger, tap tap tap, put the finger up, put the finger down, put it on your chin. One little finger, one little finger, tap tap tap, put the finger up, put the finger down, put it on your arm. One little finger, one little finger, tap tap tap, put the finger up, put the finger down, put it on your legs.
Next week we will be talking more about musical instruments.
Have a wonderful weekend!
